The Purpose and Value of Labour Support

Birth work has been a sacred ritual to Indigenous peoples of the world for centuries. Throughout the birthing person’s journey of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum, a large circle of support is provided by mothers, aunties, anânsiaks (grandmothers), sisters, relatives and close friends. Indigenous peoples have practiced as ‘Doula’s’ since the beginning of time.

With a holistic approach, Anaana’s Doula fosters the bond between the birthing persons, the infant and their families. During the sacred time of labor, delivery and postpartum, Anaana’s Doula will help strengthen the bonds across the lifespan.
